A ceremony will be held on September 12 to announce the upgrade of the Ta Lung (Vietnam) - Shuikou (China) border gate pair to international status, including the customs clearance channel on Ta Lung II Bridge, Radio the Voice of Vietnam quoted the Cao Bang Province People’s Committee as reporting.

The event marks an important turning point in expanding economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between Cao Bang province (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China).

According to the Prime Minister's master plan for border gates along the Vietnam-China land border for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Cao Bang province will have three international border gates: Ly Van (Vietnam) – Shuo Long (China), Ta Lung (Vietnam) - Shuikou (China), and Tra Linh (Vietnam) - Longbang (China).

Previously, on December 28, 2023, the Tra Linh (Vietnam) - Longbang (China) border gate pair was upgraded to an international border gate, including the Na Doong - Na Ray customs clearance channel. Thus, in just two years, Cao Bang has successfully upgraded two international border gates.

Mr. Ly Quoc Khanh, Deputy Head of the Cao Bang Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, stated that the successful upgrade of the Ta Lung - Shuikou border gate pair to international status is expected to create new momentum for socio-economic development in the locality.

It aims to attract investment, boost import-export activities, and promote cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries, thereby contributing to strengthening the comprehensive friendly cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China, he said.
