Vietnam’s agricultural, forestry and fisheries exports reached $36.3 billion in the first eight months of 2022, up 13.1 per cent over the same period of 2021 thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. If such growth can be maintained over the remainder of the year, the target of $55 billion in agricultural, forestry and fisheries exports this year is entirely feasible.
Vietnam needs to make effective use of the FTAs it has signed to promote agricultural exports, and government management agencies also need to adopt policies to support and encourage mechanization in the production and processing of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products.
