On March 10, in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Bamboo Airways and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) signed an MoU for an aircraft engine maintenance support package worth $750 million. Bamboo Airways aims to expand its international flight network to 40 routes in 2022.
Bamboo Airways signed a $60 million CFM56-5B engine maintenance agreement with SR Technics on February 16, within the framework of the Singapore Airshow and in the presence of senior officials and business representatives from the two countries. It also signed a flight data contract on the same day with Boeing Digital Solutions and discussed the purchase of Boeing 777X aircraft.
On November 3, in Paris, in the presence of the Prime Ministers of Vietnam and France, Bamboo Airways and the Safran Group signed an MoU worth €2 billion ($2.31 billion), under which the latter will provide engines and equipment for 50 A321neo aircraft and 30 Boeing 787-9 aircraft belonging to the former.
Bamboo Airways has announced it will conduct direct flights between Vietnam and the UK and has opened a representative general agent in the UK. The carrier is expected to begins flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City by the end of the year.
Bamboo Airways has been licensed by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to operate 12 direct return flights between Vietnam and the US by the end of this year. The first will take place on September 23.
