Developing the Mekong Delta is the task of the entire political system
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong assessed the Mekong Delta as a strategically important area of particular importance in terms of politics, economy, culture, society, national defense, security and foreign affairs. Therefore, the development of the Mekong Delta is the responsibility of the entire political system. He requested the Government to soon issue the development planning of the Mekong Delta region to 2030, with a vision to 2045, creating a basis for localities in the region to develop their own development plans.
