Within the framework of the “Vietnam Excellent Brand Awards 2022” held by VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times, Dr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC), said Vietnam needs to consider its business community as a pioneer in efforts to escape the “middle-income trap”. To build a leading business community, Vietnam cannot just promote a few enterprises and instead needs to nurture a generation of entrepreneurs.
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held a ceremony on October 12 to celebrate Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13) and honor outstanding local entrepreneurs. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told the gathering that the government will create favorable conditions for entrepreneurs and businesses in all economic sectors to gain equal access to development resources. The non-State economic sector will be given favorable conditions to participate in the implementation of projects and works via public-private partnerships (PPPs).
Politburo Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW, dated December 9, 2011, on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese businesspeople in accelerating industrialization, modernization, and international integration, has guided the development of Vietnam’s business community and entrepreneurs in the ten years since. Despite the effects of Covid-19, a monthly average of 13,300 enterprises were newly-established or returned to operations last year, according to the General Statistics Office.
