Vietnam targets developing a contingent of entrepreneurs and have many of them playing an important role in global supply and value chains.
This forms part of Politburo Resolution No. 41/NQ-TW signed by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on October 10 on building and developing local entrepreneurs in the new era.
Its general goal is to develop a contingent of dynamic and creative entrepreneurs with advanced administration capacity, knowledge, skills, and vision, to meet requirements in the country’s industrialization and modernization process.
Some of the contingent are to develop to regional and international levels and take a leading role in key sectors where Vietnam is internationally competitive and in prioritized and spearhead industries.
President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Pham Tan Cong said the Resolution will open up a new period of strong development for Vietnamese entrepreneurs, contributing to building a contingent capable of fulfilling Vietnam’s aspirations to become a high-income, developed country by 2045.
Speaking at a national conference of Vietnamese business associations and entrepreneurs held in Hanoi on October 11 in celebration of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13), Mr. Cong said entrepreneurs are a special workforce playing an important role in implementing industrialization and modernization and building the country's independent, self-reliant, and integrated economy in the new era.
