The General Statistics Office has reported that total trade turnover of goods in October stood at $58.27 billion, a 0.1 per cent compared to September and 5.7 per cent year-on-year. Total trade in the first ten months was $616.24 billion, up 14.1 per cent year-on-year. Trade was in surplus by over $9 billion.
The Vietnam Waterway Administration has reported that the volume of goods being transported between Vietnam and Cambodia by ship is increasing, with container cargo rising 20 per cent each year. However, goods on the route connecting Cat Lai Port and Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port in Vietnam with Phnom Penh are being transferred to Sihanoukville in Cambodia or Laem Chabang in Thailand, posing a risk of losses during transit.
According to the Binh Duong Statistics Office, the southern province’s exports are recovering well and totaled an estimated $19 billion in the first half of the year, with a trade surplus posted of more than $6.1 billion.
