Green transformation in the textile and apparel industry is a must for one of the sectors with the largest environmental impact globally, after food, construction and transportation.
Businesses leaders shared stories of sustainable development at a recent forum and discussed the need for and benefits of green transformation for all companies.
According to the “Vietnam Energy Outlook Report” from the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) and the Electricity and Renewable Energy Administration of Vietnam at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and released on June 2, Vietnam holds substantial potential in green transformation but action is needed early so that emissions peak no later than 2035, to avoid excessive costs. The report also suggested that Vietnam needs to act soon to convert fuel and to electrify its transportation sector. This will have dual benefits, including reduced air pollution and less dependence on imports. It also said Vietnam is an important partner in Denmark’s transition to a green economy.
