Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 22 emphasized that nuclear power is regarded as a stable and strategic energy source, playing a crucial role in ensuring national energy security and supporting Vietnam’s energy transition.

International investment cooperation agreements for the construction of the first Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant expected for completion by September and the second plant by December.

Relevant ministries and the Khanh Hoa provincial authorities asked to focus on removing bottlenecks and accelerating the progress of relocation, resettlement, and site clearance, with the goal of finishing all related tasks within 2025.

The plan aims to meet the human resource needs for the Ninh Thuận 1 and Ninh Thuận 2 nuclear power plants by 2030.

Both nuclear power plants need to be completed before December 31, 2031, at the latest.
