‘For the poor’ month launched

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with units and businesses to hold a ceremony on October 8 to launch the “For the poor” month from October 17 to November 18, with activities to help disadvantaged families, poor students, and children orphaned by Covid-19. HDBank is one business to have implemented many charity programs for the poor over the years.

Hanoi aiming to eliminate poor households by end-2025

Hanoi is implementing a host of solutions to support sustainable poverty reduction and has set a target of cutting the number of poor households by 25-30 per cent each year and basically having no poor households by the end of 2025. Total funding to 2025 is nearly VND1.6 trillion ($67.6 million).

326,000 Bac Kan residents benefit from credit policies

After 20 years of offering preferential credit policies for the poor and policy beneficiaries under government resolutions, more than 326,000 poor and near-poor households and beneficiaries in northern Bac Kan province have obtained production loans. Policy credit has contributed to a significant reduction in poverty over the years.
