Amazon Kuiper Vietnam has received official authorization from the Ministry of Science and Technology to operate a private satellite telecommunications network to test home-grown satellite internet hardware.

Satellite internet services will coexist with terrestrial infrastructure, such as fiber optics and 4G/5G networks operated by Viettel, VNPT, and MobiFone.

The licensing of Starlink to provide satellite internet services in Vietnam is expected to be a catalyst for local companies to join the endeavor.
