The KTC has recommended not applying temporary measures in the case because there are no clear signs that imported goods cause significant damage to the domestic industry.
On March 28, Hwaseung from South Korea and Shire Oak International from the UK signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the first rooftop solar system in Vietnam. Hwaseung has partnered with Shire Oak International to install and operate four solar power plants with an output of 18 GWh per year and has plans to install larger-scale rooftop solar systems in all of its existing facilities.
At a meeting between northern Thanh Hoa province and South Korean enterprises, provincial leaders expressed a hope of more cooperative opportunities with companies from the country. Among 140 FDI projects now operating in Thanh Hoa, 37 are from South Korea or are South Korean joint ventures with Japan, accounting for 26.5 per cent of its total FDI projects. The South Korean Government has also provided aid to Thanh Hoa in five overseas development assistance (ODA) projects, with total capital of more than $135 million.
