The US, Japan, the UK, and Belarus now recognize Vietnam’s “vaccine passport” and India has agreed in principle. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) is holding urgent discussions with about 80 partners to accelerate the mutual recognition of the passports.

In a document issued by the Office of the Government, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh requested that relevant ministries accelerate the application of “vaccine passports” on a uniform template in both physical and electronic form.

With the government approving a suggestion to welcome tourists holding vaccine passports, Phu Quoc Island will become a model for resuming tourism activities based on the measure, which other localities will be able to learn from.
