The collaboration between Viettel and Qualcomm aims to enhance Vietnam’s 5G capabilities with plans for rapid expansion domestically and internationally.
According to the Information Monitoring and Analysis System on the network environment (Reputa), Shopee and Lazada continued to hold the No. 1 and No. 2 positions in popular e-commerce platforms on social networks in Vietnam in September. Vo So and Viettel Store both appeared in the top 10 for the first time. Despite the difficulties posed by Covid-19, Reputa said, e-commerce platforms still grew strongly and are being widely used.
Deputy General Director of the General Department of Taxation Phi Van Tuan has signed and promulgated Official Letter No. 3786/TCT-KK publicizing the V1000 list of enterprises paying the largest corporate income taxes in 2021. Viettel and Vietcombank continued to maintain their top positions, which they have occupied for many years. The banking sector dominated, with five enterprises in the top 10.
On September 21, the world’s leading brand valuation consultancy, Brand Finance, in cooperation with the brand consulting firm Mibrand Viet Nam, officially revealed a list of the Top 50 most valuable brands in Vietnam in 2022. Viettel was the most valuable for the fourth year in a row, with $8.8 billion, up 44.5 per cent and three times higher than VNPT ($2.858 billion) and Vinamilk ($2.814 billion), which ranked second and third, respectively.
A strategy on developing digital transformation platforms and applications to meet needs in e-government, the digital economy, and digital culture is being promoted by Viettel on a global scale. In the first half of 2022, its consolidated revenue in foreign telecommunications reached $755 million, up 9.7 per cent year-on-year.
The military-run telecommunications group Viettel has been honored by HR Asia with a “Best Place to Work in Asia” award. This is the second year in a row it has picked up the award. Viettel’s success mainly comes from digital transformation.
At a meeting with Viettel on August 16, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the group has become an example of an innovative and effective State-owned enterprise and a pioneer in overseas investment.
Viettel Group and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. have announced a cooperative arrangement on developing 5G infrastructure solutions using advanced technology. The deal is considered an important milestone in the national strategy for Made in Vietnam 5G infrastructure development. Viettel has pioneered providing 5G services in Vietnam, with a presence in 18 cities and provinces and with more than 150 transmission stations.
