The Police Investigation Agency at the Ministry of Public Security has decided to prosecute Tran Qui Thanh, Chairman of the Tan Hiep Phat Trade and Services Ltd. Co, on charges of allegedly misappropriating property.

His two daughters, Tran Uyen Phuong and Tran Ngoc Bich, who are Deputy Director Generals of the company, will also be prosecuted on the same charges.

While Thanh and Phuong have been detained pending further investigation, Bich remains free.

Investigations were carried out after reports from residents in Ho Chi Minh City and southern Dong Nai province accusing Thanh, Phuong, Bich and several other individuals of allegedly committing acts of fraud and “abuse of trust to acquire property”, as well as tax evasion. Most of the fraud allegations are related to high-value real estate projects in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai.
