Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked relevant agencies to promptly complete the remaining construction work in Terminal 2 at Phu Bai International Airport, in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, to welcome passengers in April.

The Prime Minister made the request during a recent inspection visit to the site.

With total investment of over VND2.2 trillion ($95.7 million), construction of the terminal began in December 2019.

It is designed to serve 5 million passengers each year. The airport’s current capacity is 1.5 million passengers and is often crowded.

Construction is 95 per cent completed and contractors are working to finish the interiors and install and test equipment so it can open next month.
