Northern Thai Binh province attracted a record $3 billion in FDI during 2023, ranking it among the country’s top 5 in FDI attraction, according to the Thai Binh Department of Planning and Investment.

FDI attraction was a key factor in the province’s GRDP growth of 7.37 per cent last year.

Its agricultural sector continued to develop sustainably with the application of biotechnology. Total production value in the sector was estimated at over VND29.7 trillion ($1.23 billion), a year-on-year rise of 2.2 per cent.

The industry and construction sector posted positive growth of 11.6 per cent against 2022.

Thai Binh disbursed nearly VND6.3 trillion ($262 million) in public investment capital during the year, equivalent to 128 per cent of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.

More than 13,800 enterprises were established last year, with total registered capital of over VND13.8 trillion ($575 million).
