North central Thanh Hoa province is actively implementing the National Green Growth Strategy to achieve sustainable economic development.
The province is focusing on restructuring its economy, promoting innovation, developing green industries, and enhancing energy efficiency to contribute to global climate change mitigation.
To realize these goals, Thanh Hoa has implemented various policies and initiatives to support organic and sustainable agricultural practices. The province has encouraged investment in infrastructure development and the promotion of safe and organic agricultural products.
As a result, organic and safe agricultural practices are becoming increasingly popular in the province, covering crop cultivation, livestock breeding, and aquaculture.
Many households and cooperatives in Thanh Hoa have embraced organic and safe agricultural production, minimizing environmental impact and creating products that are safe for both the environment and consumers.
For example, the organic grape cultivation model in Xuan Du commune, Nhu Thanh district, has attracted significant attention not only from local residents but also from across the country. By introducing specialty grape varieties like Korean milky grape and Japanese Kyoho grape to Xuan Du soil, this model has created a new wave in the local agricultural sector.
Currently, Thanh Hoa boasts over 200 ha of greenhouse and plastic film house cultivation, nearly 2,500 ha of VietGAP-certified agriculture, 13.6 hectares of certified organic production, and approximately 5,100 ha of organic-oriented production.
