North-central Thanh Hoa province plans to complete the construction of nearly 700 social housing units this year, according to the provincial Department of Construction.

Thanh Hoa city has been assigned to build at least 13,787 social houses for low-income earners and workers at industrial parks in the 2021-2030 period as part of a government program on building at least 1 million social housing units.

To fulfill the target, the province plans to build 6,287 units in 2021-2025 and 7,500 units in 2026-2030.

It conducted 20 social housing projects in the 2015-2023 period, covering 745,503 sq m and supplying over 14,300 units.

Thanh Hoa ranks sixth among Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces in terms of the number of social housing units built and is 10th in the number of social housing units being built.
