Thousands of foreign buyers and importers attend HCMC export fair

Mộc Minh -

On display are many products posting export turnover of over $1bln.

Thousands of international buyers and importers from many countries and territories have gathered together at the Ho Chi Minh City Export Forum and Trade Fair 2023, which opened on May 25, to seek information and the supply of Vietnamese export products.

Lasting through May 28, the fair offers a venue for businesses to meet and seek potential partners and importers.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan said 3,000 foreign visitors have registered to attend, including 273 from 70 countries and territories such as the US, South Korea, and India, to learn about Vietnamese export products, take field trips to production sites, and seek trade links.

The participation of thousands of international importers and businesses means that there remains huge potential for local exporters to develop markets, Mr. Hoan said.

Around 200 export businesses in Ho Chi Minh City are displaying products, with priority on those posting export revenue of over $1 billion such as wood and wooden products, food, rubber, plastic, electronics, and garments and textiles.
