Central Thua Thien-Hue province welcomed nearly 2.6 million tourists in the first ten months of this year, a 1.5-fold increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Provincial People’s Committee.
International visitors stood at 824,500, up 1.5-fold year-on-year.
Total tourism revenue is estimated at over VND5.66 trillion ($235 million), also a year-on-year increase of 1.5-fold.
The province targets welcoming 3-3.5 million tourists this year.
It also posted positive growth in other economic sectors during the ten-month period.
The total retail sales of goods and services totaled nearly VND45.9 trillion ($1.9 billion) in October, rising 15.1 per cent year-on-year. Total export value in the first ten months was $874.2 million.
The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 2.3 per cent year-on-year.
