The Government has approved a plan on reduction and simplification of administrative procedures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2025, with time limit required for issuing Certificate of Visa Exemption by Vietnam's overseas missions shall be reduced to one day from previously two days, according to a report from the Government News.

The plan targets to cut and streamline administrative procedures administrative procedures in the following five areas: (i) press; (ii) privileges and immunities; (iii) international conferences and seminars; (iv) operations of bilateral research and cooperation organizations; (v) visa exemption; entry and exit; and (vi) notarization.

Time required for handling procedures for notarization of the authenticity and legality of contracts and transactions shall be reduced from more than two working days to within 24 working hours.

For contracts and transactions with complex contents, the time required for handling procedures shall be reduced from no more than 10 working days to six working days.

Foreign press agencies can now apply for the establishment of their permanent offices in Vietnam via the National Public Service Portal.
