Vietnam had 43 fund management companies and 141 securities investment funds as of the end of June 2026, according to the State Securities Commission.

The total assets managed by investment funds stood at approximately VND93 trillion ($3.6 billion). Including entrusted investment portfolios, total assets under management by fund management companies reached around VND846 trillion ($32.5 billion).

The fund management industry has maintained strong growth over the past decade, with assets managed by fund management companies increasing by more than 20% annually on average. The net asset value (NAV) of securities investment funds has expanded 2.8-fold since 2020.

The rapid development of open-ended funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) has played an important role in diversifying investment products, broadening investor choices and promoting more professional investment activities.

Open-ended funds and ETFs currently account for about 80% of total NAV across the market, supported by their liquidity, transparency and flexibility in portfolio allocation. The number of securities investment funds has tripled from 2019, while the number of investors holding fund certificates has reached approximately 733,000, up 1.6 times from December 2024.
