The tourism and services sector in central Da Nang city has recovered strongly and played an important role as a growth driver, according to local authorities.
In the first half of the year the sector accounted for more than 69 per cent of the city’s GRDP.
The figures were revealed at a recent meeting held to review the implementation of the Da Nang City Party Committee’s resolution on socio-economic development in the 2021-2023 period.
Local accommodation service facilities served 11.3 million tourists in the 2021-2023 period, for average growth of 32.5 per cent annually. Total revenue from accommodation and other tourism services reached VND19 trillion ($798 million).
Speaking at the meeting, Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang said the city fulfilled seven of 22 key socio-economic development targets set by the resolution.
It posted GRDP growth of 6.3 per cent each year during the period.
