The Ministry of Transport has proposed that the Prime Minister consider and approve construction of the Cho Moi - Bac Kan Expressway with four lanes instead of two, as initially planned.
Under the new plan, total estimated investment is VND5.75 trillion ($242 million).
Construction is estimated at over VND4.14 trillion ($174 million) and site clearance VND490 billion ($20.6 million).
The 28-km link will connect with the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan Expressway to create a transport network connecting the Red River Delta, Hanoi, and seaports in the northern region with border gates in northern Cao Bang province, and will also connect with other expressways, helping boost passenger and cargo transport.
