Transport ministry to kick off key projects

The Ministry of Transport plans to kick off major transport projects over the remaining months of 2023.

They include sections of the Ho Chi Minh Highway, namely Chu Market - Trung Son T-junction; Rach Soi - Ben Nhat, and Go Quao - Vinh Thuan, and the Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa and Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressways and Dai Ngai Bridge, according to a report released by the ministry on July 10.

As of June 30, it had disbursed VND35.6 trillion ($1.5 billion) of public investment capital, equivalent to 37 per cent of capital allocated.

It put a number of projects into operation in the first half of the year, including four sections of the Eastern North-South Expressway.

Upgrades to the Hanoi - Vinh section of the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line as well as renovations and upgrades to the Vinh - Nha Trang section of the railway line were also completed.
