The transport sector has achieved encouraging results in the first 11 months of the year with the total number of transported passengers reaching 4.6 billion, up 8.2% year-on-year, figures from the General Statistics Office (GSO) show.
Of the total, there were 18.3 million of international passengers, a 29.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Transport by road accounted for the largest proportion with over 91.57%.
In November alone, 464.7 million passengers were transported, surging 2.5% compared to the previous month.
In the 11-month period, the total volume of freight transport was estimated at more than 2.4 billion tons, soaring 14.1% year-on-year. In November, 246.2 million tons of cargo was transported.
