The Ministry of Transport targets disbursing over VND94.1 trillion ($4.02 billion) in 2023, fulfilling 90 per cent of the public investment plan assigned by the Prime Minister, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang has said.
The Ministry of Transport will strive to start construction of 23 projects and finish 29 others this year.
It will also strengthen management over project quality and progress to prevent waste and corruption, he told a Ministry teleconference on January 13 to review 2022 activities and launch 2023 tasks. Violations will be strictly punished under law, he said.
To fulfill the 2023 targets, the Ministry will focus on speeding up the progress of nine component projects of the North-South Expressway Project Phase 1; reviewing and completing mechanisms and policies to help tackle obstacles in transport infrastructure investment; renewing management in transport activities to improve service quality; and continuing with administrative reform.
