Vietnam is among countries in Asia that continually find a place on lists of favorite destinations for tourists from South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan (China), according to the “International tourism trends in South Korea - Japan - Taiwan” report released by market researchers The Outbox Company.
Vietnam was just behind Japan in placing second among leading destinations for South Korean tourists in 2019, prior to Covid-19.
More than 28.7 million South Koreans travelled internationally in 2019, of which 4.3 million chose Vietnam.
The expansion of flight routes, geographical proximity, and reasonable cost are considered key factors.
South Korea was Vietnam’s most significant tourist market last year, with nearly 800,000 visitors out of a total of more than 3.4 million foreign tourists traveling to the country, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
