The Vietnam Connect 2023 forum is expected to have spread the message about green growth to the public, helping to promote safer and sustainable trends and contributing to Vietnam’s joint efforts on the path towards green growth, according to Dr. Chu Van Lam, Editor-in-Chief of VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times.
He made the comment while delivering his closing remarks at the Vietnam Connect 2023 forum, which was co-organized on March 17 in central Da Nang city by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times, and the Da Nang City People’s Committee.
With the theme “New Breakthroughs for Central Vietnam, driving twin green and digital transition in sustainable economic growth strategies”, discussions were practical and valuable for localities, the business community, and domestic and foreign investors.
The Organizing Board will submit transcripts of discussions and copies of reports from experts and localities to the Prime Minister and the National Assembly, Dr. Lam said.
With its role and strength as an economic news agency that has served Vietnam’s economy and accompanied localities and the business community for more than 30 years, VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times continues to strive to be a pioneer in digital transformation, establishing and operating digital media platforms, he added.
“We acknowledge the important role of information and big data in building strategies to realize the development targets of the country, localities, and businesses,” he said. “With strong data sources on Vietnam’s economy, we have promptly digitalized data on tech platforms, helping localities and businesses quickly and effectively find reference materials.”
In staying abreast of the latest trends, the newsroom has set up an AI CHATBOT called Askonomy, which uses artificial data that is capable of real-time learning and communicating in different languages. Askonomy will help readers, investors, and businesses gain access to accurate and official economic information. This is one of the key steps in realizing VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times’ goal of becoming the leading economic media data hub in Vietnam, Dr. Lam added.
In regard to the Golden Dragon Awards, held after the Vietnam Connect forum, Dr. Lam said VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times initiated the program 22 years ago with the aim of establishing an annual awards ceremony for the foreign business community to gather together and exchange information.
It has been warmly welcomed by the foreign business community and highly regarded by ministries, sectors, diplomatic agencies, international organizations, trade promotion associations, and economists.
Over the past 22 years, the annual awards have accompanied the growth of the foreign business community and made practical and effective contributions to the development of localities, sectors, and the economy, he said.
Within the framework of Vietnam Connect 2023, the Organizing Board announced the top 50 FDI businesses in Vietnam.
They include businesses that have operated for a long period of time in Vietnam and a number of newer large-scale FDI projects that meet criteria in digital technology and the environment, and help Vietnam promote its green growth strategy and gradually realize the commitment it made at COP26 concerning net-zero emissions by 2050.
