Vietnam exported nearly 7 million tons of rice worth $3.55 billion in the first nine months of 2025, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
The figures represent a year-on-year increase of 0.1% in volume but an 18.5% decline in value.
In September alone, Vietnam shipped 600,000 tons of rice, earning $288.4 million.
The average export price during the nine-month period was estimated at $509 per ton, down 18.6% from a year earlier.
The Philippines remained Vietnam’s largest rice buyer, accounting for 44% of the total exports, followed by Ghana and Ivory Coast with 11.4% and 10.7%, respectively.
