Vietnam forecast to be short of 150,000 tech workers annually

Just 30% of tech graduates meet employer requirements, according to latest TopDev report.

Vietnam is forecast to lack 150,000 - 200,000 tech / digital workers every year, according to the latest “Vietnam IT Market Report 2023 - Vietnam Tech Talent Report” released by TopDev.

The total workforce in computer science and IT-related sectors in Vietnam is estimated at 530,000.

Each year, the number of student enrollments in computer science and IT-related major totals 50,000-57,000. However, only 30 per cent of graduates can meet the skill and professional requirements of businesses, according to the report.

The report provides the latest and most complete updates on the entire IT market in general and IT human resources in particular, in the context of changes in the economy as well as the strong transformation in the IT human resource market in the time to come.
