The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the People’s Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China signed an MoU on agricultural cooperation on September 16 in Nanning.
The MoU focuses on four key areas for sustainable agricultural development, including enhancing cooperation in agriculture and rural development, speeding up customs clearance for agriculture, forestry and fisheries products, promoting trade and investment in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and establishing a mechanism to serve businesses and the market.
Over the next three years, the two sides target achieving sustainable growth in agriculture and fishery trade and investment in agriculture between the two countries, forming and developing cross-border farm produce supply chains with the involvement of businesses from both countries, and recording solid achievements in cooperation in agriculture and rural development.
The two sides will focus on strengthening cooperation in agriculture and rural development, accelerating customs clearance of agro-fisheries goods, promoting the development of trade and investment in agricultural and aquatic products, and forming a mechanism to serve businesses and the market.
They will also cooperate in upgrading and improving border gate infrastructure to help facilitate cross-border agricultural, forestry, and fishery trade between Vietnam and China.
