Vietnam has officially launched the Low Altitude Economy (LAE) Alliance, marking a major step toward strengthening the country’s position on the global technology map.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, has been appointed as the alliance’s first president.
The alliance aims to position Vietnam as a regional leader and eventual global hub for the low-altitude economy, fostering high-tech industries that utilize unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), smart devices, data-driven systems, and automation technologies.
It envisions the creation of thousands of supporting enterprises, one million high-quality jobs, and tens of billions of US dollars in economic value over the next 10 to 15 years.
Comprising leading corporations in technology, finance, and innovation—along with startups and top industry experts—the alliance seeks to accelerate the development of this emerging strategic economic sector.
The low-altitude economy is considered a new strategic economic sector, estimated to be worth hundreds of billions of US dollars globally. It encompasses commercial and civil activities within the airspace below 1,000 meters, including operations of UAVs, drone logistics, electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL), aircraft surveillance, and smart agriculture applications.
