The Vietnam Open Technology Forum 2025 opened in Hanoi on November 3, theming “AI with Open Technology and Open Source.”

Organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the event aims to connect policymakers, researchers, businesses, and technology experts to share visions, experiences, and solutions for applying artificial intelligence (AI) and open technologies in the country’s digital transformation.

The forum also serves as a platform to review recent achievements, discuss emerging technology trends, and promote openness, cooperation, and innovation within Vietnam’s technology community.

Major domestic and international technology corporations — including Quantum, Palo Alto Networks, Arista Networks, and Viettel — participated in the event.

Addressing the forum, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung said that the greatest innovation is that of the people, and innovation for all can only happen when technology is open.

Developing open technologies, open-source software, and open data to enable individuals and enterprises to co-create new values is the path Vietnam has chosen, he said, adding that this approach will help the country become a technology-driven nation that both benefits from and contributes to global knowledge.
