The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026 (UPITS 2026) officially opened on September 25, with Vietnam participating as the Partner Country, according to a report by the online newspaper of Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).
Held from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Uttar Pradesh state, UPITS 2026 brings together manufacturing and export enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), institutional investors, and international partners.
Beyond presenting products at the Vietnam Pavilion, the country is orchestrating a series of networking programs across trade, investment, innovation, tourism, aviation, and culture. The expo also provides a valuable platform for Vietnamese businesses to gain deeper insights into Uttar Pradesh's market dynamics and engage directly with local commercial partners.
According to Commercial Counselor and Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in India, Mr. Bui Trung Thuong, this is the second time Vietnam has participated in the Uttar Pradesh Trade Show as the designated partner country.
"Our presence this year is on a much larger scale with a diverse lineup of activities. In addition to a 120-square-meter pavilion showcasing Vietnamese goods and services, we have organized business forum sessions to advance cooperation in investment, trade, science, technology, innovation, and especially aviation and tourism," said Mr. Thuong.
A major highlight of the networking programs was the “Vietnam – Uttar Pradesh Dialogue,” which focused squarely on key business priorities ranging from the local investment climate to manufacturing linkages and supply-chain integration.
While government-level dialogue reinforced the framework for cooperation, the Vietnam – Uttar Pradesh Economic, Trade, Investment, and Innovation Forum targeted the corporate sector directly. Three focal sectors were selected: textiles and garments, food and consumer goods, and electric vehicles (EVs), which are areas where both economies offer strong mutual complementarity.
At the forum, Vietnamese and Uttar Pradesh enterprises held one-on-one business-to-business (B2B) meetings to explore partnerships in importing, distribution, contract manufacturing, and joint investment, marking a critical step in translating exhibition networking into tangible commercial pacts.
