Vietnam targets sending 110,000 workers abroad

Taiwan (China) is the leading market for Vietnam’s labor exports in Q1.

Vietnam targets sending 110,000 workers abroad under labor contracts, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Focus will be placed on traditional markets while expanding new markets, with the aim of increasing the number of Vietnamese workers employed in Europe on stable incomes.

Nearly 38,000 Vietnamese workers were sent to work abroad in the first quarter of this year, a 15-fold increase year-on-year, figures from the ministry’s Department of Overseas Labor Management show.

Taiwan (China) was the leading destination, with 18,044 workers, followed by Japan, with 17,696.

The ministry will take measures to expand overseas labor markets, improve the quality of Vietnamese workers, and promote information dissemination on related policies and laws, to raise awareness among workers.
