Eleven business associations have proposed the government review a draft Decree guiding the Law on Environmental Protection 2020. Certain contents, they believe, are inconsistent with existing laws and Vietnam’s conditions and will seriously affect the business and investment environment and the operations of enterprises.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has set up a special working group to remove the difficulties facing businesses and individuals from the Covid-19 pandemic. Of note, it will review sub-licenses and unnecessary administrative procedures.

During a meeting with entrepreneurs on October 12, marking Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his appreciation of the contributions made to the national economy by enterprises and confirmed that the measures the government has implemented are to support businesses.

Health insurance is one pillar of social security that the government gives special attention. The Ministry of Health is coordinating with relevant ministries to revise the Law on Health Insurance and the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment to ensure legal uniformity.

Under its 2021 inspection plan, the Government Inspectorate will inspect the responsibilities of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) in the State management of the environment and minerals - two areas that have exhibited some shortcomings due to inadequate attention from authorities in recent times.

The Australian Government has presented AUD5 million ($3.66 million) to help Vietnam enhance its competitiveness, cut carbon emissions, and improve people’s lives. This is additional funding for the Australia-World Bank Strategic Partnership in Vietnam (ABP) program.
