The government of Pingxiang in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China has announced it suspended import and export activities at the Lung Vai Border Gate, which is adjacent to the Coc Nam Sub-border Gate in Vietnam’s Lang Son province, from 6pm on August 26.

With the number of international and domestic flights down due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) has proposed that from January 1 to the end of December 31, 2021, the cost of aircraft take-offs and landings for domestic flights be cut to about 50 per cent of the normal rate.

The May Cosmedic JSC in Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony on August 27 to take receipt of 403,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from the Australian Government. The support will contribute to speeding up vaccinations in Vietnam as case numbers continue to rise.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a government delegation worked with Binh Duong province’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on August 27. The Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee has proposed that the government and the Ministry of Finance (MoF) consider providing the province with financial support, medical equipment, and human resources for pandemic prevention.

The Vietnam Central Economic Commission and the Central Theoretical Council jointly organized a workshop on “Perspectives and orientations on land management and use in Vietnam in the new context”. The focus is on perfecting land use and management institutions in sync with the socialist-oriented market economy institutions; renovating planning work; strengthening the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity in land management and use; accelerating digital transformation; and building a unified and modern national land information system and database.

Many cities and provinces have issued sub-licenses that make it difficult to distribute goods. The Prime Minister has therefore requested that they review and remove any inconsistent documents to ensure goods distribution.
