Vietnam’s natural area totaled 33,131,713 hectares as of December 31, 2019, of which unused land was 1,230,815 hectares. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) will propose mechanisms, policies, and measures to strengthen land management and improve land use efficiency while conducting land use planning for the 2021-2030 period and building a socio-economic development strategy to 2030 and vision to 2045.

Vietnam’s tuna exports to the US and European markets increased sharply in the first quarter of 2021, by 21 per cent year-on-year to $355 billion. Taiwan (China) has announced new regulations extending one-year labor contracts for foreign workers, including Vietnamese citizens working for families or companies. To have their contract extended, the employee must have been employed as a family worker for 14 years or 12 years in other occupations.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) is finalizing a new tax and fee support package for businesses facing difficulties because of Covid-19, totaling about VND24 trillion ($1.04 billion). In the time to come, the ministry will also strive to remove difficulties in valuations and land issues as well as strengthen directions to effectively implement equitization.
