The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) at the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has decided to extend the time limit for foreign manufacturers and exporters submitting answers to questions in investigations into the application of anti-dumping measures on some steel products originating from China and South Korea to 5pm on August 9, 2021.

The 15th National Assembly (NA) adopted a resolution on July 23 regarding the government’s organizational structure for the 2021-2026 tenure. The government will remain the same in terms of organizational structure and number of ministry and ministerial-level agencies, with 18 of the former and four of the latter.

The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has announced an official decision to not apply trade adjustment measures to Vietnam. The reason is the recent agreement between the US Department of Finance and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), in which the SBV provided satisfactory solutions to an investigation of Vietnam’s monetary policy under Section 301 of the US Trade Act of 1974.

Many businesses and industrial clusters (ICs) have not yet finished general waste treatment works due to time-consuming and costly legal procedures. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will soon inspect and closely supervise ICs causing pollution and will handle those that are inefficient, violate the law, or unsuitable for actual local conditions. It has also directed that operating ICs complete investments in concentrated waste-water treatment works before January 1, 2024.
