Vũ Khuê -

The total retail sales of Vietnamese consumer goods and services increased 10% annually over the past 15 years since the launch of the campaign.

The total retail sales of Vietnamese consumer goods and services increased by 10% annually over the past 15 years since the launch of the "Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese goods" campaign, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The ministry held a ceremony in Hanoi on November 12 to celebrate 15 years of the campaign.

Vietnamese products account for a large proportion on retail channels, with more than 80% of products at supermarkets and at least 60% of products on traditional retail channels.

Revenue of retail sales of consumer products made by the domestic economic sector accounted for 85% of the country’s total.

Many new supply chains were created, including supply chains of energy, electronics, steel, garment and textile, footwear and wood products. Vietnam also joined the global supply chain via FDI enterprises.

A survey conducted in 2023 by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) showed that 63.3% of FDI companies used products and services from Vietnamese businesses as their input, significantly higher than the 12.4% recorded in 2010.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that the campaign has contributed to improving the country’s competitiveness, boosting economic growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, and ensuring major balances in the economy.
