The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has proposed to upgrade Vinh International Airport in central Nghe An province with an estimated cost of VND754 billion ($29.6 million).
The investment will be sourced from the aviation infrastructure maintenance fund.
The ACV reported that the runway and taxiway of the airport have deteriorated with cracks and damages seen on the surfaces.
Meanwhile, the number of passengers kept increasing in recent years with an average growth of 15% during the 2015-2019 periods. In 2022, the airport served 2.6 million passengers.
Under ACV’s proposal, the upgrade will take around 4 months, starting after the 2025 Lunar New Year Holiday and completing before the summer holiday next year.
