Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, VIS 2026, held from September 3-5 in Ho Chi Minh City, marks its fourth consecutive edition since its inception in 2023. For many participating enterprises, the event represents an ongoing process where expanding scale and connection quality yield tangible commercial value year after year.
Sellers: From visibility to sustainable orders
For many Vietnamese exporters, the most immediate benefit of participating in VIS is gaining direct visibility among global sourcing networks.
As a veteran participant present across all four editions, Mr. Diep Nam Hai, General Director of Cholimex Import-Export and Investment Joint Stock Company (Cholimex), observed that VIS 2026 features a significantly larger scale and far more professional displays.
“Because the expo is fundamentally a business-to-business (B2B) networking event, partners who visit our booth have genuine cooperation needs,” Mr. Hai shared.
On the opening morning on September 3, numerous buyers from the United States and Europe visited the Cholimex booth, having learned about the event through Vietnam’s overseas trade offices.
According to Mr. Hai, when diplomatic and trade agencies endorse such events, it serves as a strong guarantee of quality, linking national prestige directly with corporate credibility.
Buyers: Seeking long-term stability and quality
On the purchasing side, international buyers view VIS 2026 as a strategic destination to diversify supply chains and secure reliable manufacturing partners.
Highlight the strategic value of sourcing from Vietnam, Mr. Tariq Al-Mansoor, Senior Procurement Manager at Lulu Group International, said: “Vietnam stands out in Southeast Asia due to improving production standards, with VIS connecting the group directly with vetted manufacturers.”
Similarly, Mr. Ramon Santos, Managing Director of AgriGoods Philippines, praised the expo’s B2B format, noting that negotiating directly with processors gives his firm confidence to establish multi-year procurement contracts.
Mr. Jean-Pierre Dupont, Commercial Attaché at the French Trade Commission (Business France), noted that European importers are increasingly prioritizing sustainable sourcing, traceability, and environmental standards - areas where Vietnamese exporters have made substantial progress.
By connecting global buyers with local manufacturers, VIS 2026 helps Vietnamese enterprises move up the value chain into strategic, long-term partners.
