The Western Ring Road of central Da Nang city, which links the National Highway 14B with Ho Chi Minh Highway, was open to traffic on May 13.
Built with a total cost of VND1.5 trillion ($59 million), the 19.2-km road has four lanes with a roadbed width of 41m, allowing a maximum speed of 60kph.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh said construction of the ring road is part of the city’s transport infrastructure development strategy. It helps to complete the ring road network surrounding the city and connect the city with localities in the central and Central Highlands region.
Together with Lien Chieu seaport, the Western Ring Road will open up new growth drivers for the socio-economic development of the western region of the city, he said.
