The Ministry of Construction on October 8 awarded five ideas in Grade A, Grade B, Grade C, and two Consolation Grades in a competition on master urban planning-architecture concepts for the head office areas of ministries and central agencies in the west of Hanoi's West Lake.

The joint venture between Nikken Sekkei Ltd and the Vietnam Construction Design and Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company (CDC) won the Grade A award, the design consultancy consortium joint venture SDHH won Grade B, the joint venture Gmp - IL won Grade C, and the joint venture VietArchitects Alliance Cor. and the joint venture KUNWON-UAI- won the Consolation Grade awards.

The ideas for the planning and architecture of the office area had to meet synchronous and modern requirements and have a friendly nature, be open, aim to serve the people, and ensure flexibility in adapting to the requirements of different ministries and branches, according to Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh.

The Ministry of Construction will hand over documents on these five ideas to the Vietnam Institute of Architecture, Urban and Rural Planning (VIUP) to complete planning projects on the construction of headquarters for ministries, ministerial-level agencies, governmental agencies, and central agencies of mass organizations in Hanoi to 2030 and the implementation of subsequent works as prescribed.

Ideas submitted to the competition were all highly creative, diverse, clear, and scientific, with demonstrated quality, capacity, and expertise.
