$10bln in economic violations uncovered in 2023

Economic violations totaling VND257.7 trillion ($10.7 billion) and thousands of hectares of land violations were uncovered in 2023, according to the Government Inspectorate.

It conducted more than 7,680 administrative inspections and over 193,770 specialized inspections.

Inspectors proposed recovering over VND188.6 trillion ($7.85 billion) and revoking 166 ha of land, as well as handling a further VND69 trillion ($2.87 billion) and 450 ha of land.

Inspectors proposed administrative punishments on more than 126,158 organizations and individuals, and have transferred dossiers to the investigation agency to handle 497 cases.

Inspections will be enhanced in 2024, focusing on sectors and localities at high risk of corruption and violations.
