Members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) sold 340,142 vehicles in 2024, marking a year-on-year increase of 12.6%.
Of the total, there were 172,730 domestically manufactured and assembled vehicles, down 4.8% year-on-year. Meanwhile, imported vehicles reached 167,412, surging 38.8% year-on-year.
In last December alone, 31,598 cars were sold, down 18% compared to the same period of 2023. They included 24,575 tourism cars, 6,461 commercial vehicles and 562 special-purpose cars.
In November, VAMA members sold a record number of 44,200 vehicles in 2024, soaring 58% year-on-year. The increase was attributed to a 50% cut in registration fees for domestically manufactured and assembled vehicles, under a Government Decree which takes effect from September 1 to November 30, 2024.
