The Ministry of Transport has approved a project upgrading the Lo Te – Rach Soi road in the Mekong Delta with an estimated investment capital of VND750 billion ($29.6 million), according to the My Thuan Project Management Board.
The 51.5-km Lo Te – Rach Soi road (first phase) connects Can Tho city and Kien Giang province. It has four lanes with a roadbed width of 17m, allowing a maximum speed of 100 kph.
The road was put into operation in January, 2021. Total investment capital was estimated at over VND6.35 trillion ($251 million).
The road has helped to shorten travelling time between the two localities by 80 minutes, contributing to promoting socio-economic development and transport connection in the region.
The upgrade is expected for completion before December 31, 2025.
