8M public capital disbursement at $12.47bln

Disbursement equal to 42.3% of the annual target and up slightly against 8M 2022.

More than VND299.4 trillion ($12.47 billion) in public investment capital was disbursed in the first eight months of 2023, equal to 42.3 per cent of the annual target set by the Prime Minister, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

The result is higher than in the same period of 2022, when it was 39.15 per cent.

Disbursement of domestic capital reached over VND292.1 trillion ($12.17 billion), equal to 40.1 per cent of the annual target.

Meanwhile, disbursement of foreign capital was estimated at more than VND7.26 trillion ($302 million), or 29.95 per cent of the annual target.

The MoF has reported that eleven ministries and 23 localities recorded disbursement rates of over 40 per cent.

However, 33 ministries and eight localities saw disbursement of less than 25 per cent.
